Publication Scholarships are available to Research Fellows who have published a paper in one of the journals on the DFI journal list
DFI Publication Scholarships are only available to DFI Research Fellows. A DFI Research Fellow can each year only apply for a single Publication Scholarship (Level 1 or Level 2). Please see further in DFI Principles Program
Applications for Publication Scholarships should be submitted before June 30 to be eligible for review in the current calendar year. All applications received after June 30 will be reviewed the following calendar year. The first payment can only be made when the article is in print or it appears as forthcoming on the journal’s website.
For each application deadline June 30, we accept applications for papers that have been accepted for publication or published in the current year or the year before (i.e. for the deadline June 30, 2025, we accept papers that have been accepted/published in 2024 and 2025).
With effect from 2024 the following acknowledgement in the article is required:
a) A Research Scholar has to use the following statement: “Support from the Danish Finance Institute (DFI) is gratefully acknowledged” is stated in the article.
b) A Research Fellow who does not receive a Research Scholarship has to use the following statement: “NN is affiliated with the Danish Finance Institute (DFI) which financially supports researchers in Finance”
If not the publication is not eligible for Publication Scholarships.

The amounts mentioned may each year be reduced subject to a decision by DFI board taking DFI’s current and future financial situation into account.
Please find the list of journals below.
Journals marked with * also publish articles that focus on topics other than finance, and Publication Scholarships can only be awarded to publications in these journals, if the Scientific Board judges that the article has significant finance content.
The journal lists may be modified subject to the recommendation of the Scientific Board.
